Effective June 12, 2010, it is illegal to operate any wireless microphone system that uses a frequency of 698-806 MHz in the United States. The FCC has revised the assignments of the frequency spectrum as part of the DTV transition. The “700 MHz band” – all frequencies in the range 698-806 MHz have been re-assigned to exclusive use by Public Safety Agencies. Because this range will be in use by Public Safety Agencies, any microphone using one of these frequencies will not be able to operate correctly due to interference. You might also disrupt important police, fire, ambulance or homeland security services if you continue to use a microphone that utilizes these frequencies. If you have wireless microphones, check your frequency range to make sure that they are not in this band. Some microphones can be modified by the manufacturer or service center to operate on an acceptable frequency. These 700 MHz units can not be operated in the US. It is your sole responsiblity to make sure this frequency band is legal in your country.
